The Ivory Palace was a private gaming club long before it was a hotel. The floor still feels that way: three small rooms off a central corridor, low ceilings, ivory-painted paneling with gilt mouldings, and worn green baize that has seen decades of play. It is a tables house first — roulette, blackjack and baccarat — with a modest slot lounge to one side and a single private card room for higher-stakes play.

Membership is required and the dress code is smart casual after 18:00. The room is open to hotel guests and members aged 18 and over. Stakes are kept modest by design — the room sets the tone, not the chips.

The tables

Eight live tables across the main floor. European roulette in the centre room, blackjack along the sash-window wall, and baccarat in the far corner. Croupiers are long-serving; many have been with the house for a decade or more. Minimum stakes are posted at each table and kept deliberately accessible.

The Salon Privé

A single private card room, by appointment, for higher-stakes play. Ivory paneling, a brass reading lamp, a door with a small brass plaque. A host will look after your party for the evening. The Salon Privé is for members and their guests only.

The slot lounge

A small, separate lounge with a dozen classic upright machines. We keep it deliberately small — the Ivory Palace is a tables house, and the lounge is for a quiet flutter between dinner and the floor, not for long sessions.

Membership & access

Membership is free and takes a few minutes at reception; you will be asked for photo ID confirming you are 18 or over. Hotel guests are admitted as day-members for the duration of their stay. The dress code is smart casual after 18:00; no sportswear. The Salon Privé asks for a jacket.

18+ only. Gambling is for adults aged 18 and over and can be addictive. Set limits, take breaks, and if gambling is a problem for you, contact GambleAware, GamCare or self-exclude via GamStop. See our responsible-gambling policy.
